James Ella James is a retired Delivery Services Manager and Service and Finance Auditor for the Oakland region of the U. S. Postal Service. She has extensive experience in management of groups, financial and real estate management, and planning. She served on the Regional Board of American Baptist Churches of the West, General Board of ABC/USA and serves on the Board of Managers of American Baptist Historical Society.

Mrs. James is a Founding Member of the Berkeley Public Education Foundation and served on the National Boards of Women in Community Service and the National Council of Negro Women. She serves as Secretary of the California Council of Churches and is a member and deacon at McGee Avenue Baptist Church. She chaired the 85th anniversary of the Church where over 50 octogenarian members were honored.  (Board Member since 2003 - Liaison for Allen Temple Arms I, II, Allen Temple Gardens III, and Allen Temple Manor IV in Oakland.)
