Parnow Friendship House
San Rafael, CA 94903
TDD 800-545-1833 ext. 478
Nestled in the hills of Santa Venetia, with Frank Lloyd Wright’s landmark Marin Civic Center in view, stands Parnow Friendship House.
Built in 1986, this cluster of ten rustic buildings was designed to blend in with its woodsy backdrop, its patios and front doors leading directly to landscaped grounds set alongside a sylvan creek and unspoiled hiking trails. Parnow’s beginnings grew from the efforts of Center Interfaith Housing, a collaboration of St. Sebastian Catholic Church and Congregation Rodef Sholom.
Housing seventy-one clean and comfortable one-bedroom apartments, Parnow Friendship House offers an array of community activities, such as remembrance writing, fitness, gardening, ESL, brain games, films, current events, chat groups, social and cultural events and many volunteer activities.
Located a few blocks from the Civic Center and next door to the Osher Marin JCC, our residents enjoy free tickets to the symphony and international dance performances, half- priced membership to exercise and yoga classes, the gym and indoor/outdoor swimming.
Within walking distance, the picturesque Lagoon Park plays host to one of the best Farmers’ Markets in America and to many annual festivals, including the Senior Expo and the Marin County Fairgrounds. We can even watch the 4th of July fireworks from our 2nd and 3rd floors!
With a caring and diverse population, we pride ourselves on being an “everybody” place.
