The residents of ABHOW's affordable housing communities are all the recipients of benevolent care. They have qualified as residents because they lack the income to pay for market-rate rent. Many residents waited a long time for such affordable housing, and while they waited they had to make impossible choices after paying the rent - deciding whether to spend what's left on food clothing and medicine.
ABHOW strives to ensure that its residents never face such a predicament. The ABHOW Foundation manages the Affordable Housing Assistance Grant Fund which provides quality of life amenities to our residents such as paratransit buses, sound systems for the hearing impaired, a computer learning center and support for meals and activity programs. It can not be said enough what a difference these added services and amenities make in the lives of residents.
Thanks to the generosity of so many, ABHOW is able to ensure that residents enjoy a live, not just a place to live.
